Statistics Seminar Series: Official Statistics: An Ethical Balance

Adapted from a paper presented at the recent International Statistics Institute conference in Durban. It discusses how the twelve Principles of Official Statistics adopted by the United Nations Statistics Commission in 1994 have been implemented in New Zealand and gives some examples of recent challenges to these principles.
