The Families Commission

The Commission offers contestable research funding through three research funds: the Blue Skies Fund (call for proposals in Mar/Apr and Aug) for studies on new perspectives on contemporary or emerging family issues; the Innovative Practice Fund (call for proposals in May/Jun) for practice-based and practice-related research; and the Families Commission Research Fund (call for proposals in May/Jun and Nov/Dec) for more substantial research projects. Reports from these funds are used to inform policy and practice.

Funding for proposals varies between about $5,000 and $15,000 according to the type of study. Please send enquiries to research@nzfamilies.org.nz
