Indicator guidelines
Statistics New Zealand has produced a guide for those who are developing, interpreting or disseminating indicators.
It outlines generic criteria and definitions to aid in the selection and development of indicators. Indicators can be used to gauge any improvements, or to monitor a specific group or phenomenon. They can be used to monitor policy and to determine where intervention may be required. The guide is divided into four sections: criteria for indicator selection; working with indicators; definitions; and useful links. It was developed with input from a range of organisations.
