Students build links
PhD students funded by the SPEaR Linkages programme met in Wellington recently to discuss their research and to develop links with social policy researchers.
The students each gave a short presentation on their doctoral research, were briefed on the work of SPEaR and the Ministry of Social Development, and took part in a discussion on the evidence-informed policy context and their postgraduate experiences.
SPEaR Project Manager Paul Honeybone said the day gave students a chance to talk about their research and provided them with an insight into the day-to-day business of those working in a public policy research environment.
